The Internship · Pick your track

Join a real product — or bring your own.

You’re matched to a product and a mentor by what lights you up. Every track ends the same way: something real, shipped, and yours.

For good · Autism

MusicASD

Music-driven AI supporting children with autism — built with Seattle Pacific University’s music department.

For good · Education

CriticalThinker

An AI tutor that sharpens a student’s reasoning instead of replacing it.

Bring your own idea

Have a spark of your own? Shape it into a real, buildable for-good product with your mentor.

More products rotate in each term.

Whatever you pick, you’ll learn AI from the fundamentals up and understand every line — and the driven ones publish it, like our students did in JMIR and at MIT.

The journey · Five steps

From an idea to something real — and understood.

01

Onboard & scope

Meet your mentor, pick your product, and scope a real contribution you can genuinely own — not busywork.

02

Learn the fundamentals

Learn the AI underneath — enough to understand every line, not just prompt it. That’s the whole point.

03

Build with AI

Draft with AI, interrogate every output, and build a real feature the right way — with the “why” intact.

04

Ship it

Deploy real, working software — not a demo that dies on your laptop. Something you can point to.

05

Prove it

Rebuild it from memory and defend every decision. The driven go all the way to a published paper.

What you walk away with

Three things a camp can’t give you.

A product that exists in the world

Working, deployable software with a repo and a demo you can show a college or an employer.

The skill to explain and rebuild it

You can defend every decision and recreate the core from memory — without AI. Earned, not outsourced.

A published paper — if you have the drive

A real venue (like JMIR or MIT URTC), never a pay-to-publish shortcut. The ceiling, for those who reach.

A shipped contribution for everyone. A published paper for the driven.

We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Tuition funds the mission, and a limited number of need-based scholarships are available each term.

Who it’s for

Two kinds of students. One real outcome.

High schoolers

A real spike for college applications — a shipped product and, for some, a publication. The authentic kind admissions officers actually reward, not a manufactured “passion project.”

College students

Portfolio, real skills, and speed. Graduate able to build and explain production AI — not just prompt it. The rare, hireable combination.

Your mentors

Led by founder Roy Ma — a career data scientist and business consultant, founder of several startups, holder of multiple AI & NLP patents, and a technology advisor and keynote speaker on AI in education at Seattle Pacific University.

You’ll work with people who ship real software for a living — not rotating grad students practicing on you. The person guiding your project has actually built the products, earned the patents, and mentored the papers.
